This
contributing. c.l865 Italianate residence is among the most
distinguished in the hamlet from this historic era. It features a
2- story, L-shaped gable front main block, with a 2-1/2-story tower.
The structure has a stone foundation, clapboard siding, 2/2 sash with
decorative surrounds, bay windows on the first story, decorative
cornice brackets and single and paired semi-circular windows on the
tower. A late-nineteenth century barn is a contributing resource on the
property.
Dr. Daniel Brown Howard, son of Dr. Eliakim W and Ann R. (Brown) Howard was born in Warrensburgh on January 17, 1841. He studied medicine with his father and graduated from Albany Medical College on December 7, 1865 He then became partner with his father in Warrensburgh. He married Louisa F. Griffing, daughter of Duncan and Marie (Stackhouse) Griffing in 1872. They had two daughters, Julia and Clara. The home his father built for him in 1865 also served as home and office for Dr. Goodman and dentist, Dr. Speidel before becoming a bed and breakfast named Donegal Manor in the late 1980s, and is now Seasons Bed & Breakfast.
