This contributing, c.1860 caretaker’s cottage, originally associated with the Elms Mansion, is architecturally significant as perhaps the most distinctive and intact French Second Empire style residence ‘in the hamlet. It features rectangular, mansard roofed, 1-1/2 story plan, with gable roofed dormers, stone foundation, 2/2 sash with decorative window surrounds, brick chimney, clapboard siding, and intact entry porch with square columns and decorative braces.
