This contributing, c.1850, 2-story, wood frame  residence is one of three built on Elm Street  by Burhans, Gray and Company,  which owned a large tannery nearby on Burhans Avenue (no longer extant).  Although the original integrity of this home has been somewhat compromised  by modifications to the wall sheathing, windows and roof sheathing, it retains its overall integrity of form, with its cross gabled plan and original center chimney.

Shown on 1876 Beers Atlas as B.P.B. (Burhans)

The existing (2009) door surround is quintessentially Greek Revival.

Fenestration is imperfect and the windows are not of original construction.

The siding has been replaced which may well be hiding corner pilasters and frieze band.
