Emerson Memorial Town Hall, erected in 1965, was the first permanent building erected to house the town government in Warrensburg. Prior to that, town meetings were held at various locations. Albert L. Emerson had bequeathed to the town $150,000 to build a town hall. The property on which it is located had previously been the site of the lawn of the Burhans Mansion.
