ca. 1920

This contributing, intact, c.1920 Bungalow-style residence was built by Scott B. Smith. It has an eave front plan with shingled wall cladding, cornice brackets, exposed rafter tails and front porch sheltered under the principal roof structure. Original multi-pane sash and contributing rear outbuilding support the integrity of the property, which clearly recalls early-twentieth century residential development in this part of the hamlet. This house and the neighboring house to the North were both built by Scott B. Smith (1888 - 1945). He was also a insurance and real estate salesman, and in 1915 was the Warrensburgh postmaster.
Distinguishing features include front roof line extending over porch, wide open eaves with exposed rafter tails, accentuated overhang brackets, ganged windows and gable roof dormer.Residential |
