This non-contributing, 2-story, rectangular, center and side-gabled building with a rear 1-story shed addition, has a stone foundation. vinyl bay windows, a modern front door, and enclosed returns on the gable ends. It has received such substantial modification that it no longer conveys its historic associations.
A. Reoux was born in Warrensburg in 1901 and went on to become the youngest-elected and longest-serving New York State Assemblyman from Warren County. He was the son of Louis and Adelia Thomas Reoux. Harry's maternal grandfather, Miles Thomas, was an elected treasurer of Warren County. His father Louis also served as county treasurer and was president and cashier of the Emerson Bank in Warrensburg (now Glens Falls National Bank). Harry was married to Rita Kettenbach. He was active in several fraternal organizations, including past master of Warrensburg Masonic Lodge 425. Upon Harry's death in 1968 the local newspaper dedicated a special tribute to Harry..."To few men is given the privilege of serving the state at a very early age, but such a man was Harry A. Reoux who was elected Assemblyman from Warren County at age 29 and served with distinction for the next 20 years....." He served on several committees, including the Judicial Council of New York and the Tax Law Revision Commission. During his tenure he secured funding for the Isaac Jogues Memorial in Lake George (for which he received a Papal Blessing from Pope Pius XI in 1937). He also backed a study of Lake George water levels that resulted in the setting of minimum and maximum levels and proposed the Prospect Mountain toll road (vetoed at the time by Governor Lehman). Following his resignation as Assemblyman in 1950 Harry served as counsel to the Legislature's Committee on Reapportionment. He then served as research counsel to the N. Y. S. Senate Committee on Agriculture.
