The Wayside Hotel, located just west of the Woolen Mill Bridge on the south side of the Schroon River, was opened in 1889 by Martin Griffin. The next owner was John Cahill who sold it in 1897 to John Dedrick, a veterinary surgeon. A year later, Dedrick sold the contents of the hotel at an auction and then the hotel to John Davison of Glens Falls. Davison ran the hotel for nearly twenty years, until 1917, when Isaac Montena acquired it. Shortly after Herbert Ingraham bought it in 1923, a fire gutted much of the building. It was sold to George Glassbrook, who repaired the hotel and turned it into a two-family tenant house. In the 1950s Anna and Frank Johnson owned the hotel, followed by William and Blanche Steininger, in 1960. Under different management, the name was changed, first to Spirits and then to CB's. It closed in 2012 and reopened in 2016 as....
