This substantial  and contributing, 1921 residence features  a hipped roof, 2-story plan  with enclosed  1-story  porch on concrete  block piers,  both  shingled  and Clapboard-sided  wall  cladding,  some  original  multi-pane  windows  and  original  fireplace  chimney.    The property also contains a contributing, rear outbuilding.
Mountain View Cottage was in operation around 1940.  A private residence that accommodated summer guests, it was located at 25 Library Avenue. Mrs. Ella L. Farrar was the proprietor.  Ella was the wife of George E. Farrar and mother of Clyde.  Her death came on March 23, 1957 at the age of 86.
