North Country Ministry, a faith based, not-for-profit outreach organization was created to serve the needs of rural communities in Warren County.  Initially centered in the towns of Lake George, Johnsburg and Warrensburg, services have been extended to more than 1000 people monthly over an area greater than 650 square miles in rural Warren County.  They assist those who need help to function in their daily lives or to improve their quality of life, providing counseling, a meal site, family clothing, furniture, emergency assistance, parenting support, housing rehabilitation and adult living units.  In the fall of 2008, the Ministry purchased a home at 3933 Main Street, across from the post office, that has since been turned into an Outreach Center.  This purchase was aided by a $50,000 grant acquired with the assistance of State Senator Betty Little.
